Barney Stinson’s mother finally has a face - and it’s none other than Frances Conroy, best known as Ruth Fisher, matriarch on Six Feet Under. I heard this casting news courtesy of TV Guide’s Matt Mitovich, and I’m quite pleased. I’ve been checking out the fan response to this announcement, and it seems a lot of people were hoping Megan Mullally would be Barney’s mother when the day finally came, seeing that she’s been the voice of Mrs. Stinson up to this point. Personally, I think Mullally looks way too young. And I like Conroy. She’s a fantastic actress, and I’ve missed seeing her on my TV.
