Casting News - Laura Prepon Signs On for 5 Episodes

Another familiar face will be joining the cast of How I Met Your Mother: Laura Prepon, best known for her roles on That 70s Show and October Road.

Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello reports that the woman once known as Donna Pinciotti will be

Ted’s once (and future) girlfriend in five episodes … Prepon’s alter ego — Ted’s squeeze through high school, college and then some — is said to be as snooty as she is beautiful, and notorious for cheating on her lovers to avoid having to explain why she’s dumping them.

Ausiello speculates as to whether Prepon’s character will be the elusive “Mother”. I’m not so sure. From the character description, I don’t see her capturing the title of Mrs. Ted Mosby.
